Raymond Tan from Penang performed his latest song All of My Days during Fresh Encounter Conference 2014.  I didn't catch the name of the lady singer who sang it but her voice was so sweet and yet powerful.  Kudos to her.

Learning To Worship

Worship is a beautiful something. It's not an activity nor a religious meeting. It's a time when you can give God your adoration, expressing your love and worshipping in music unto Him. An act of worship simply means loving God therefore it propels us to do what pleases Him.

When we worship as a group of people, as a congregation, there is a bond that holds us together and that is His Spirit. I was drawn to know who God is when I first saw how the people in the youth group I joined were worshipping years ago. I probably mentioned before, the sincerity of worship can be felt by the people around us. That was my experience, I was able to sense the reality of God through the worship leaders, or the forefront leaders.

The connection they had with God made me want to know Him more. And that was powerful. Slowly but steadily, God in His loving ways drew me out of my shell. Shell of fear.

I got to know Him most through worship and subsequently the experience paved the way for me to know Him more through His Word. After that, prayer and conversation came easier for me.

Years later when I worship led in church, as I submit to His leadership and allow God to do as His will, I can see how the congregation connects to God as they join me in worship. Over time, worship leaders who practice moving in His leading, the experience is inevitably awesome. It's as if a current runs through you and into the people you lead. And good things start to happen, breakthroughs in the spiritual realm.

Worshipping is a beautiful act. Not a pretentious showmanship but an act of obedience out of our love and honour to Him.

Can I encourage you to never stop where you are, but to keep reaching out for His presence. And to the worship leaders, continue to seek God as you prepare to lead His people. Let Him take over, and be His instrument, a vessel He can use to minister to His people.

God Is God And I Am Not

Not only through preaching of the Word and reading the Bible can only bring the 'rhema' word of God, well inspired by God song compositions are able to do the same. Each rhema word can be specific to each individual or people and when we receive it, we are changed. Spiritually we are challenged, mindset has been altered, God does something in our spiritual being. Subtle or not, something good happens inside.

The simple words of the chorus can suddenly bring so much meaning to me and a reality of something sets in for me.  These words:

God is God and I am not

Songwriting workshop with Karen who hails from Penang but is a music director in New Creation Church , Singapore.

New Creation Church Team is Coming To EPCC

For the next two nights I will be attending New Creation Church Worship Conference at EPCC. I have sign up for the Songwriting workshop and I do pray God imparts something I need through the them. There are four workshops (Songwriting, Album Production, Sound mix, Worship Leading) available but we can only choose one. Contemplating between Songwriting and Worship Leading, I settled on songwriting as I have only been to one seminar that includes songwriting tips. I have been to many worship leading seminar and though I never get tired of it, songwriting was just the choice for me now.

There are two songs I am currently listening on my laptop so be blessed as you worship along.

Our God Is Able

When I listen to this song, I felt my burdens a little bit lighter. 

I know my God is able, though I may go through impossible times, I know He is more than able to do unimaginable miracles and turn things into possibility for me.

Worship Songwriting Ideas

I've been wanting to write songs and I did attempt a few, prayerfully. And hopefully I can find time again to seek God for songs that will minister to people. I'm glad two songs I did for childrens' camp(praise song) was well-liked by the teachers and the children. Thank you, Lord!

I was born again at the age of 12. Though I was born into a Christian family, but my spiritual eyes was opened at 12. I experienced God's love and His touch was as real as raindrops falling on my face. I looked back and I'm grateful to Him who saved me and brought me through healing of many things that I went through and He continues to mold and shape me to being the 'me' that He has willed. I'm a work in progress and through my weaknesses, His strength pulls all things together to help me overcome. Perfected in my weakness.

Why do people look at the stars for their future or horoscopes to determine their day when they can ask the One who made the stars and universe. Our future is in His hands and the choices we choose to make. Stay free for His Truth has already set us free.

I Will Search For You

God says in His word, " You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13).The presence of God becomes increasingly real as we spend more time in His presence. It's interesting how Jesus left the diciples bewildered when He said He will be  going away yet He will always be with them. Soon enough they experienced the Holy Spirit living inside of them as He is living inside of each of us believers.

So is there a need to search for Him that is within us? Yes, in other words we need to connect with Jesus. That is 'seeking', it is all part of connecting and having a communion with Him. A time when God will bless us with His directions, and His grace to walk this life on earth, comfort us, lifting our spirits to face another day, a communion individually tailored for each one of us. A beautiful song to worship the Lord our God!

I hope you will enjoy worshipping Him with this song as much as I do. It's the heart of worship that God desires from us and the kind of worship that brings out the sweet fellowship between God and us. Songs may move our emotion but only God can touch the depth of our soul, a touch that awakens the spirit man in us. It is so true that the love of God is none like any other, one that sees us through Jesus. And through Him, we are perfect in His eyes.

Remembering Jesus at The Cross

 I'm glad my piano student introduced this song to me. Yahweh by New Life Worship, Ross Parsley. Besides the wonderful arrangement of the songs, I love the lyrics. Yahweh was actually spelt YHWH without the vowels and Yahweh speaks of who He is. There is so many meaning quoted by different authors but to me He is just forever. He is the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last.

Resurrection Sunday is coming and today is Good Friday, let's remember what Jesus had done for us on the cross. His faithfulness is everlasting and no matter how far we are, He still there for us. Let us not forget to fellowship with God who loves us first and created us ,knew us even when we are at our mother's womb. He is sovereign! Be blessed by the song and worship Him with all of your heart.
