Prayer On The Road

Ever since my first car accident, my car has been a prayer 'altar' where I spend flexible devotion time with my Father. While I was on my way to work one day I thought about a friend who was in KL, accompanying her father for a heart surgery. God jus popped her into my mind while I was pondering on some upcoming events. No relation to her. I messaged to know if surgery is over. At that point, the father just went in awhile before my message.

So I went into praying in tongues and suddenly a new tongue came and I asked God for interpretation. The impression came that I have to pray against the enemy from taking his life. Suddenly I remembered she told me the father is not a believer yet. And I confirmed with her.
My whole drive to work was a warfare time. I believed God was doing something in their lives as a family and there was an opportunity for the father to come to Christ.

The next day, I messaged my friend to asked " All good?🙏🏻" A little afraid of the reply cos I remembered my doctor friend, oncologist told stories how she prayed for her patients till they die. "probably it was their time"  and fear crept in a little but another part of me was pretty convicted and sure that it all went well.

And so the reply came " Praise the Lord, Yes! Taking a bus down later "

All glory to God!😃

Pain Threshold leads to God Dependence

Recently it dawned on me that my threshold for pain is huge. Well, in my definition at least. Since I was small, I barely complain of being sick or in pain. I remembered when one of my teeth was about to fall out like hanging by a string, I didn't tell my parents and pull it out myself. I think I never have gotten down to telling them.

I have quite a number of stories but the most recent, I was on my way back from Sydney with friends. when we were just half an hour away from landing at Kuala Lumpur, my ears and my head was hurting as if a bomb was going explode inside my head. My nose was also experiencing tightening. I had no idea what's happening, the pain was excruciating I thought I might die if something did burst inside me and yet I didn't call out for help. Neither did I show the extent of my pain to my friend, so no one took it seriously.

I bent down my head and stayed still as best as I could, breathing extremely slow because every breath I took it makes the pressure and pain in my head worse. In all this turmoil, my spirit cried out to God for help, a cry of helplessness and fear. Telling him "please make it stop, I don't know how to shout for help", "the pain is killing me and I have not felt this before".
Moments later, it subdued a little, I could move a little, I didn't know how to sit or even to breathe for that matter, afraid the attack will come back.
God knew and understood who I am and what I was not able to do. He healed me from whatever that might have happened. He intervened for if He did not and I remained in that pain, I wouldn't be able to get off the plane like a normal person.  Those 15min of excruciating torment made me feel alone and unsure of what's next.

I'm truly grateful for His understanding and intervention. I consider this experience as God saving me again.

My life is His and truly I submit this body of mine to Him. I will accept only His time for my departure away from this earth to my heavenly home. I can only pray that I will be able to do my best to care for the body He has given me.

And just recently I researched and found out its called aerosinusitis. If you Google it, you would be able to find out more. A good awareness for people with sinus.

Head Injury Deterred

A sudden loud glass shattering sound came from below. I ran downstairs thinking if Daddy has fallen or dropped something. Trying find the source of the sound, I came to my piano room. Here's the damage:
Glass table was broken
The ceiling fault area

God saved me again. The very spot I sit while teaching kids at the piano, is the exact spot the big piece of white cement fell on. Recently we moved the glass table in the room, therefore with little space, I end up sitting at the edge of the table while overseeing my students play the piano. My title says head injury deterred, but I wondered if God saved me from death. Again.

I went upstairs and said a little thank you to Daddy in heaven for literally watching over my head or shoulders. Literally calculating the distance and the impact towards either my head or shoulder if I was sitting there working.

My heart may skipped a beat but the same time a heave of gratefulness / relief seeps in.

Other times He Saved me.

I Escaped Death Through His Peace

A few blog post away, I wrote about how God saved my life or my face during a car accident. Rewinding further back till my early teens. I had another divine intervention and for this reason, I’m still in one piece today.
I had just taught a good friend of mine how to ride a bicycle for a few days and she was ready to go on the road. Guys and girls of her neighbourhood got together and we went bike riding around Hillside, Tanjung Bungah. I think there were around 6 of us. My friend and I borrowed bikes from the neighbours.

We came to a part where it was quite hilly but steep and we were at the top of it. I forgot to mention that my friend who had just learn to cycle, was having the bicycle with a little brake malfunction. For the brake to work, you have to brake earlier than usual. Anyway, we were deciding to go down hill, it was pretty steep. I was game for the thrill but then my friend said she didn’t dare because of the brakes. So I offered to change my bicycle with hers thinking that I would probably handle the bike better, and not knowing the science of gravity hard enough, I went ahead with it.

As for the science of gravity, we all know that with high speed, faulty brakes probably don’t work that well. And that’s exactly what happened. I could not slow down, I was going in high speed down the hill into a road of passing cars,
I tried to slow down the speed with my slipper(never wear slippers for outdoor activities like this), my toe bleed abit, I couldn’t do more. My only option was to pray and hope I don’t bang into any cars. As I was nearing the main road, I had a sudden peace that came over me and I gradually turn my bike  out to the road like I was doing a usual turn. With all that uncontrollable speed, I thought I would have fallen and slide sideways and bang cars or something but I had a smooth turn and I managed to turn into the next road and steadily slowed down the bicycle till I was able to jump out and stop entirely.
If I had panicked, I probably ride straight into the passing cars and I would have flown off my bicycle, no doubt.

My friend was dumbfounded and wasn’t sure what had happened and she said I was going so fast. No one knew my brakes didn’t work because I didn’t scream , shout to them or showed any sort of discomfort with the bicycle. None of them followed after me as they were not sure what had happened. They came after I had reach the other road.

Philipians 4:9 ‘The peace that transcends all understanding’ became an experience for me through this ordeal. God saved me through His peace that I escaped death or disability. All because His peace pulled me to safety. His hands guided my hands, made me more skillful than I have ever been. Thank you, Jesus!

A Distinction From God

I didn't know what to expect when I was asked to collect my piano theory results. It was one of those exams where it mind boggles and you walk out unsure if your answers are right. And one mistake in certain questions will affect other parts of the question.
God took care of my needs through out my exam week a few months ago. By the way I mistaken the exam date for the following week or so. And it truly was an adrenaline rush of uncertainty and I quickly message my piano tutor. I remembered my tutor asking me if i have taken leave to study.I said no. I really did not think of that at all. So I juggled between life, work and study.
Friday came,it was just a day before my exam. I started having flu after lunch. While sneezing away, i tried to study and then rest right after. Not to mention I was suppose to play guitar for cell group that night, I was not able to relax, thinking if i should not go 'cos if i do go i will be back late normally and the next morning I will need to wake up 7.30am to run through my study notes. Exam was at 9.30am the next morning. Negative thoughts disturbed me the whole day.
I told myself as long as I pass, I guess that's fine but deep inside me I felt I could get better than that. I gave God my thoughts and worries yet I felt like an elephant has sat on my back. Then God reminded me about honoring Him and He will honor me. Deja vu on my SPM year played in my mind, God knows I did my best. And He kept His Word. This time His best for me is to exercise that same faith again on His Word. So finally i decided to play guitar and attend the whole CG meeting. Thankfully God took away my non stop sneezing during that period of time. And I also like to thank the Cg brothers and sisters as well as friends who had prayed for me.
Things didn't get easier as I had hoped, went home sneezing and running nose returned. Fever also had seeped in and bugged me mad so I took extra med and did my last bit of study that night and went to sleep. I woke up a few times in the night not feeling so good. Here comes morning...
Fast forwarding to my exam hall,I thank God the air condition was not working too well,I'd like to think that was God-doing for my sake but poor others who complained till they had to bring in a standing fan.
When I am not that cold I have less tendency to sneeze(which saved me from a ton of embarrassment) but my nose was still running, fever under controlled. I completed my exam in 2 and a half hour. The more I checked the more mistakes I see, thank God for revealing it to me before submission.
Then I went home to rest till my body recovered from the flu and fever. What a day it was. My knee was wobbly by the time I finish because of the flu and fever exhaustion.
Though it was a tough ordeal, I'm glad to have experience God's hand on me throughout the time. Someone I truly can hang on to and He knows best as to what I could handle or what I could not. The results came quite as a surprise.
It is never easy to trust God and take the harder path but easier to give up. One thing that God has always taught me is to put Him first instead of putting work or studies above Him. He also wants to let us know that He is in control of our life situations.  I have my moments that I have failed to follow His ways but all I can say is, He truly honors us when we honor Him. His Word remains faithful no matter what our human wisdom tells us.
I hope my testimony will be inspire you to allow God to take your faith to another level. Be assured as well that no matter how many times we fall, be sure to know He is still there when you get back up.
